      K. A. P.S. M stands as a distinguished state level chapter of the prestigious Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine ( IAPSM). The association embodies a commitment to excellence in public health as a non-profit professional entity with members of globally acclaimed experts in Epidemiology, Community Medicine, Health Management, Health Promotion, and Preventive health care. With a steadfast commitment to advancing public health, the Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine – Kerala chapter (K.A. P.S .M) plays a pivotal role in shaping evidence-based health policies. Through its diverse initiatives in education, research, and community medicine, the association fosters a vibrant platform for the exchange of innovative ideas and the dissemination of contemporary public health knowledge. K.A.P.S.M is deeply invested in the development of both undergraduate and postgraduate medical professionals, nurturing their expertise in epidemiology, public health, and community medicine. Education is a fundamental pillar of the association’s activities. Through structured academic programs, workshops, CME (Continuing Medical Education) initiatives, and skill-building seminars, K.A.P.S.M ensures that medical students and public health practitioners remain abreast of evolving methodologies in community health and epidemiological research. These programs also create opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration, bridging the gap between clinical medicine and public health policy.

      Recognizing the value of research in advancing medical science, K.A.P.S.M plans to actively support faculty and student-led projects . These research endeavors not only contribute to scholarly literature but also offer practical solutions to pressing health issues in underserved communities. The association often collaborates with national institutions and NGOs to translate research findings into impactful health interventions.


        The legacy of academic excellence will begin with the first state conference to be hosted by the chapter on 7th and 8Th November 2025.
